Kevin Schreiber is the Head of Business Development for Oyana, bringing 8+ years of business development, sales and marketing experience to the team. Prior to Oyana school, Kevin spent four years working with PowerGen Renewable Energy, leading the implementation of income-generating business models for rural mini grid customers in sub-saharan Africa. Before moving to Kenya, Kevin spent four years with Tesla, laying the groundwork for sales and marketing of Tesla electric vehicles in the northeastern US. Kevin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Environmental Science.
Emily Post is an American certified teacher with 10 years of classroom and school leadership experience. Prior to co-founding Oyana School, Emily was Deputy Director for Terra Moyo International School, where she led daily operations, wrote a bespoke curriculum, managed parent/school relations, expanded classrooms, hired 20+ staff, and developed a range of school policies and processes. As Dean of Learning and Instruction at Nova Pioneer Tatu City, Emily hired 60+ teachers, managed all teaching staff, developed instructional regimes and new extracurricular programs, and designed/implemented 50+ professional development training sessions. Before Nova, Emily taught as a Year 1 teacher at Hillcrest International School, and has taught in various public and private schools in the USA. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in Inclusive Childhood Education with a minor in English as a second language from Houghton College, NY.
Kirtan Patel is the head of operations and strategy for Flammatech Limited, a leading fire safety systems company in Kenya. Prior to Flammatech, Kirtan was the senior business development associate at PowerGen Renewable Energy, where he developed commercial partnerships and business models for funding the expansion of mini grid infrastructure projects across sub-Saharan Africa. Kirtan graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and brings extensive expertise in financial modeling, project management, and partnerships to the Oyana team.
Eddy Okech is a visionary business leader, fintech entrepreneur, and climate advocate. He founded Ongoza, an SME incubator, Anywair Group, a fintech provider of micro asset loans, and Treeco Fund, which promotes agroforestry activities in rural areas. He is a graduate of Yale University, Trinity College, African Leadership Academy, and Friends School Kamusinga. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy at the University of Nairobi. With Oyana School, Eddy supports the development of new partnerships, government engagement, and business strategy.
Emily Ireri is an experienced school leader and Kenyan certified teacher with 19 years of teaching and school administration experience. Prior to co-founding Oyana School, Emily was a Dean of Learning and Instruction at Nova Pioneer School, Tatu City, where she developed educational programs that are adaptable to students’ learning styles. She designed professional development for teachers, cultivating strong school culture and community stakeholder leadership. Emily has served as the School Administrator and Headteacher at Goodrich Schools where she enhanced the schools’ academic and co-curricular programmes and supported school growth 350 to 725 students during her tenure. Before Goodrich, Emily was the Head of English Department and Middle School Coordinator at Makini School, and the Deputy School Coordinator at The Green Garden School.
